This is What Happens When A Biologist Learns to Knit

Introducing Mr. Knitted Lab Rat and Mr. Knitted Frog:
(I call them "Mr." because I don't see obvious signs of knitted ovaries or a uterus, duh)

Patterns available on etsy.

Edited to add:
These patterns are also available on Ravelry: Lab Rat,and the Frog.

What a nice, yet unnecessary and even more unneeded flashback to high school biology classes, and the dissections we did.

It's particularly odd to see the fuzzy yarn used on the rodent.

Pretty amazing of course.

Yuck. Yuck. I hated biology class and I especially hated dissections. Where would you display such, uh, talent? Maybe if you were a biology teacher...

I would have been more than happy to deal with the knitted variety than the real thing (with that putrid formaldehyde smell) Thanks you've brought it all back to me now....! ! These should be made available to the more sensitive or Peta friendly students.

I am so going to make one of those for my high school anatomy teacher. She would be so tickled...

Those are really awesome! My girls would love that, and what a fun way to talk about comparative anatomy without sacrificing a few more animals on the pedestal of science. Thanks!

That's freaking incredible! It took me a second to figure out that the rat wasn't real...not that I'd make them myself!

Very clever. Slightly disturbing, but very clever.

As an artist with an avid interest in the sciences (biology of course being top of the list) I have to say I adore these! Excellent! And really fun to see something new, outside the box. Love it!

These are awesome. Now I want to make one to freak people out :)

Gee... Will these replace grandmother's knitted afghans??? A nice, knitted, disected rat on the back of the sofa would be SUCH a conversation starter.

I wonder if the folks who oppose dissection could use these instead? So long as you can correctly identify (and knit) the innards of a frog or rat... you should still get full marks, right? :D

You should totally make those for schools that dissect frogs and rats!! They would be reusable and user friendly! I'm serious....you could go into business!

Those are wonderful... you are a better knitter than I. I posted your creations on my blog, at http://creakysites.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/the-friday-post-19-a-visual-search-engine-4hoursearch-and-anatomical-knitting/
as antomical knitting.

I came here from casa az.

Those things are rather freaky! Wonderful, of course, but also slightly creepy. They might, as txbearwood said, start conversations. They might also kill them. Would you want to be in a room with a person who kept that frog on the back of the sofa?

I wouldn't.

I think you are just waiting for events to happen and I can tell you now that this is is not the best way forward, Buy cheap WOW gold here.
I have seen people before go down this path and my experience shows me that this is not at all the way to go. Fast deilvery here.
I can even go so far as to say that some people I have tried to help who have lived through similar Transits (but let us be clear here Isis, the Transit you will experience is very rare and very unusually powerful and this is why I insist so much on warning you about it) chose to sit back and wait and all that happened it that they missed out on all of the chances and opportunties which looked so sure to benefit them!
