I Think I Found Her Daughter!

The daughter of the C U Next Tuesday bag creator that is. I have to say folks, up until today I have said everything with humor, but this time I think I am actually offended. I mean, I get the humor of the vajayjay tissue box I featured in a previous post, and the Willie Warmers so many are fond of. (I for one am not a fan of the willie warmers, they just give me a visual I don't care to think about) But today's entry, I think it missed the mark in humor, and making a statement. Is it just me? Hey, at least she's a crafty one though!

For those of you unable to read it clearly, the hat reads "Crafty Cunt". Well "Crafty - Cunt", she seemed adamant about the importance of the dash.

I especially enjoy the glamor pose, squatted in from of the Oven!? WTH?
It would take a certain kind of special to wear that lid.

Oven? Simple: killer cupcakes, baby!

Hey now! That's me and my hat!

It was a response to my ex repeatedly calling me a c-u-next Tuesday. Ergo, I made the hat as a response because you can't really hurt people with something they'll call themselves, right?

Reading this book might shed some light on the situation: http://www.amazon.com/Cunt-Declaration-Independence-Expanded-Updated/dp/1580050751/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221694840&sr=1-1

P.S. I have no idea what somebody thinks I made that's worse. My Ravelry is quite tame.

I think its a beautiful hat as is the woman wearing it. Being properly educated on the true, original, meaning of the word cunt makes her brave and educated. Obviously being in front of the oven with her snake shows her other interests. Woman can make a killer cupcake, trust me.

I forgot to add that I guess I am from a different generation that associates that word as being obscene and derrogatory towards women.

Cunt: 1. usually obscene : the female genital organs ; also : sexual intercourse with a woman
2. usually disparaging & obscene

The etymology of 'cunt' comes from the Latin term cunnus for vagina (i.e cunnilingus) and/or the German word for the same thing. It was turned inappropriate during the religious reform of the western world and was only considered THE worst word in the 20th century.

Maybe it's part of my generation, but the large perception amongst socially aware women that it's just a bit unfair the the most extreme cuss is something only ladies have. I'm already brought up in a society that advertises that by having a cunt, I'm dirty/unclean/not so fresh and that the worst name you can call somebody is a feature of my anatomy that makes me different from the boys. By using it myself, we're taking away the power it used to have to hurt people. Like Harry Potter saying Voldemort.

It's high time women stop being afraid of words. It's not like I'm wearing it around the preschools...just posting it to the more open-minded groups on Ravelry. I didn't bring it to public blogs.

Forgot to add a citation. She says it a lot better and educated than me here:

Viciousbleu,
My apologies, you posted a link in the comments earlier and I accidently deleted it. My intentions were to delete only the links a few anonymous posters left that were to porn sites. Please feel free to repost.

I understand that your generation views the word cunt as derogatory, and to each their own view. But you're blatantly taking that away when you post someone's knitted goods on a blog like this. Our generation is trying to take back the word, as was previously stated by viciousbleu, so there is no reason for you to impose your views of the word on us.

I have to agree with you Why, if I saw a young lady wearing a hat that says "crafty cunt" I would wonder about her. Cute blog.

Ooooh, I made that hat a favorite over in Ravelry to remind me to make more cunt inspired clothing as I too liken myself to be a crafty-cunt.

I'd also like to note that viciousbleu does great color work! I still have problems with a little puckering.

I love it!

Viciousbleu, I commend you for being brave enough to wear the hat, great knitting btw...but I have to say, you can try to "take back the word" all you'd like, but if you call a stranger on the street a "cunt" they are going to be offended. Besides, who wants to "take back" all the good dirty words. What's next, "bitch"? That's no fun. I think you are taking all of this way too seriously. Wear your hat and be proud, if you don't like what is being said on the blog, assume the writer is a dumbass and move on. Be proud.

Are you are aware that you are using copyrighted images without prior permission? I suggest you remedy this ASAP. It's "fowl."

(just posting it to the more open-minded groups on Ravelry. I didn't bring it to public blogs.)

Oh hon, I'm flattered you think this blog is so popular, but I have to say, to date Ravelry has over 185,000 members. Which is WAY more public than this blog!

I can't believe that you would be more offended over this than a replica of a vagina that has tissue coming up out of it!! What is the world coming to when a word about a female sex organ can be soo offensive? People, wake-up, you all started in the body of a woman & you all came out of a woman! There is nothing disgusting about the female body, nor words that describe our bodies...nice hat, keep up the great work!!
