Ha, I love this blog! And here I thought I was just being overly picky when looking through knitting patterns and thinking to myself "Honestly, why would anyone in their right mind make that? Why??"

I hate that stuff! People that know I knit, but know nothing about knitting/yarn buy it for me. Ugh!

I've knitted with this, making scarves for friends. It's actually fun, most people like it because it looks like it's hard to knit, but it's actually pretty easy & doesn't show a single mistake you might have made.

That being said, I always refer to the scarves I've made as "Fraggle Hides".

My mother made me a 'something' with what she called "fun fur".

It was bright blue, and if you stretched it, it exposed its innards, a sort of green that might be called "bile".

It was hideous, scratchy, and was a very odd shape (seven feet long and three inches wide) and when I was looking at it, my cats proceeded to hiss at it without stopping.

It's clearly evil. It lived in a hamper for three years until a kid that came over with its mother to pick up a Freecycle item wanted it and got it.

It's the kind of crap only a kid seems to like. Totally freaked me out. I tried it on and it created a scratchy red rash on my skin.

What a fab website. I will be checking back often (and I pray that none of my creations end up on here!!!)

Haha the lady in the first picture looks a little crazy. I think she saw the coat thing the lady in the second picture was wearing and became jealous, so 'acquired' whatever she's wearing around her neck. Possibly from carefully unpicking it from lady no 2's coat whilst she wasn't looking. Whilst it was being worn.

Oh, and I had a teacher who had an entire jumper made out of that stuff. Completely canary yellow. I laughed at her when she wore it. She was evil anyway.

I work in a craft store and always refer to the stuff as "foo-foo" yarn. I get looks, but I still refuse to think of it as proper yarn.
